Rubicon Released!

Pew Pew for Free Free! ;)

So y’all might remember the Kickstarter campaign for Rubicon, a spacey shooter that would eventually be released for free? Well, that day has come, and the developer has released the final version of the game, for free, for everyone, and it works on PC, Mac and Linux. You can find download links on this Kickstarter post or on the game’s official website. I toyed with the beta for a spell a little while back and had a great time with it, so I’ll be sure to put a review together of this one soon. In the meantime, download the game and check it out for yourself. :) Enjoy!

  1. This is a sweet game, I love the classic style, the combat flows very well. The game does seem like you can make the game too easy though, what with the options of infinite lives or invulnerability. I guess no one uses cheat codes any more. It wouldn’t really bother me but for some reason the game decided my ship should be eternally invincible, and no matter how times I press the button in options my ship stays immortal.

Difficulty weirdness aside, the game is a blast. I was rocketing around in a Lamjet, weaving between asteroids like a ferocious mongoose and turning all red ships to dust with my missile launcher.

  2. actually, its not that its stuck on invincible, its just that everytime you enter the options menu it turns invincibility off, so when you click it you’re turning it back on =P
has anyone found any unlockable ships? the kickstarter page said there’d be new ships..

    1. Oohhh, nifty, thanks for that! I’ll fill that out once I’ve played a bit more.

  3. oh sorry, I just found it! you go left on the ship selection on the ‘play’ screen! haha, not obvious enough in my opinion, but hey!

Chime In!
