SGJ Podcast #174 – Blue Planet

So Pretty…

Hello my friends, and welcome to this week’s episode of the Space Game Junkie Podcast This week, Jim, and I (sans Hunter, sadly) sit down with Seth Dickinson, one of the writers and developer/designers of the massive Freespace 2 mod/total conversion/follow-up game, Blue Planet. We talk to Seth about the history of the project, what it’s like modding Freespace 2 along with its source code, being a part of the massive Freespace Open and Freespace Upgrade communities, and much more. I tell ya, we could talk about Freespace 2 for eons…

Next week on the show, we have a real treat. Industry legends Jack Mamais and David Wessman (who’s name I mispronounced on the show, sorry!) join us to talk about their current game,  Starfighter, Inc., but I’m sure there will be plenty of X-Wing, TIE Fighter and Mechwarrior talk as well. :) If you have any questions or comments, please drop them below, email us at hail@spacegamejunkie.com or hit us up on the forums. Thanks for listening, and we hope you enjoy the show!

PS. I was having some sort of bandwidth issue while we were recording, so the video is a bit messy, and I apologize for that. You might want to listen to the audio file for the full experience. Thanks!
