Let’s Play Lost Empire: Immortals – Entry 1 – It’s a Big Galaxy Out There…

Not a Bad Map…

Hello, and welcome to 2008’s Lost Empire: Immortals from Pollux GameLabs and Paradox Interactive! This is a space 4X strategy game that’s a follow up to Lost Empire, which came out the year before. The game offers a story-based mode, a free-play custom game mode and multiplayer. For this let’s play we’re going to do the standard story-based mode, choosing a huge galaxy (5,000 stars for chrissakes!) and a crystiline race with a focus on science! YAY SCIENCE! This game is an odd one. It has some interface quirks, and it’s a bit weird you can’t build specific things on planets — rather, you designate a colony a specific type, and it builds stuff on its own — but it’s also somewhat engaging. I’ve colonized several systems, done a mission for another race and explored around a dozen systems so far. All this, and I still seem to be in last place. Good times!
