Let’s Play Independence War – Entry 1 – Intro and Training

Best. Intro. Ever.

Welcome to Independence War, my friends! This amazing game came out in 1998, at the height of the original golden age of space PC gaming, and it left a mark on the genre that hasn’t really been matched except, maybe, by its own sequel. The two games in the series are different enough that I kind of see them as separate entities (this a linear, militaristic sim, its sequel an open piracy sim). In this first entry, we watch the amazing fifteen minute intro movie together, and then do some training missions. The game crashes a bit, so rather than making you go through the missions again, we’re gonna jump right into the story with the next entry. Thanks for watching!
