Wing Commander Saga: The Darkest Dawn Launches Today

The Gool Ol' Trusty Excalibur...

As promised, the long-awaited stand-alone Wing Commander fan-created game, Wing Commander Saga: The Darkest Dawn, will be released today. Once it goes live, you’ll be able to download this game — based on an updated Freespace 2 engine — for completely and utterly free. I know I’m eager to dive in and see what this game has to offer. I’ll likely throw together a quick review or something soonish, so stay tuned, and enjoy the free game! :)

Update: The official site seems slammed, as to be expected so check out this forum post for a list of mirrors. You can also read Rock, Paper Shotgun’s impressions while you wait for it to download. Enjoy!
