SGJ Podcast #249 – The Beginning, Middle and Eventual End of the Space Game Renaissance

What Got the Ball Rolling.

Welcome to this week’s podcast, my friends! This week, Jim, Hunter, Spaz and I talk about the current space game resurgence we’re in the midst of, what ignited it, how it’s going, and what we think will bring it down. As these things happen in cycles, the current amazing pace of space game development can’t last forever. I mean, people only have so much time and money. We go into a wide array of theories as to what might cause the demise of the genre yet again. We agree we’re not there yet, but each day brings us closer to it. Thank goodness we have so many games now to carry us through the next slow patch, huh? ;)

Next week on the show, by request, we’ll be talking about DLC. While DLC can mean awesome things like full-blown expansions, it can also mean piddly little nickle-and-diming schemes like horse armor. We’ll talk about it all, and likely then some. If you’d like to request a topic, or have a question or comment, please feel free to drop them below, email us at hail@spacegamejunkie.com or hit us up on the forums. Thanks so much for listening, and we hope you enjoy the show.
