New Browser-Based Space Combat Game – Moon Breakers

You Can Break the Moooooooon! Or Something...

I have to be honest. One thing I’m loving about this blog is getting contacted by folks making their own space games. For example, today I got contacted, out of the blue, by Ed Byrne of Imba Entertainment to tell me about their new, browser-based — Chrome only — space game, Moon Breakers. Click below to read more…

According to the press release, Moon Breakers…

pits two teams of players against each other in objective-based missions, where nimble star ships dogfight and Carriers bristle with automated gun turrets as they fend off torpedoes and cannon fire, all set to a soundtrack by legendary composer Bear McCreary (Battlestar Galactica, Walking Dead). Moon Breakers’ formula of incredibly intuitive controls, crisp visuals and thrilling action gives players an experience unlike anything they’ve played in a browser, and best of all it’s free to play.

Now I’ll admit, as soon as I read “Bear McCreary“, I had to give this thing a shot. I mean, who DOESN’T love the awesome music from Battlestar Galactica? I’ve seen the BSG band live in concert more than once for chrissakes. First, I went to their site, which had this video:

So after installing the app — and turning off my anti-virus software, which I wasn’t happy about — I was logged in and quickly found a game, wherein I got blown up by a big, pesky space station. ;) It ran pretty nicely though in Chrome, looked pretty good, and the music was KICKIN’. I’ll take a quick look and post some more details later. If you have the site, I suggest ya check it out. Enjoy!
