Taking the Weekend Off

Aaahhhh, Time to Relax...
Aaahhhh, Time to Relax…

As I’ve said many times before, I’m always trying to strive a balance between blogging game time, free gaming time and the rest of the time I have available in my life. Typically on weekends I use the free time I have to play games for this blog, like last weekend wherein almost all I played was X3: Albion Prelude and Distant Worlds: Shadows.

Welp, it’s a holiday weekend here in the States, and that means I’m taking a holiday to play some games for ME. ;) Since I got this WONDERFUL little Xbox 360 Gamepad for my PC, I’ve just been reinstalling games that were fun with a keyboard, but focused on playing with a gamepad. This includes:

  • Beat Hazard
  • Renegade Ops
  • Batman: Arkham City
  • Viking: Battle for Asgard

And HOLY CRAP am I having more fun with these than ever before (and also doing much better as well). I am so loving this gamepad it’s silly. It’s really revolutionizing the way I play stuff. Truly.

So yeah, I’ll return to form next week with a review of X3: Albion Prelude and whatever else I can fit in. :) I’ve already decided how I’m gonna do my review of Shadows (spoiler: It’ll be a pirate gang run by the nicest pirate y’all ever did see ;), so stay tuned for that as well.

What are you folks playing this weekend? :) Have a good one!

    1. Huh, I can kinda see that. I’ve only done one so far, but I love that they’re there.

  1. Just curious how Viking and Renegade Ops struck you? I ask because I really liked both, and they kind of sneaked under the radar. In fact, Viking was rated pretty poorly if I recall correctly. And thinking of Viking sparked another thought, because I remember you have recently started playing PS2 games – the reason I bought Viking in the first place is because it reminded me of Mark of Kri for the PS2. That’s a pretty kickass game, worth tracking down if you can get a copy for a non-insane price.

    1. Viking isn’t bad! It’s something of a pig on my system, but mostly it runs well. I’m still on the first island, but I’m digging it. Renegade Ops is a blowy uppy fun time, especially with a gamepad. Get it when it’s on sale.

Chime In!
