SGJ Podcast #17: Void Destroyer – The Dark Souls of Space Games?

Booooooom!
Booooooom!

Welcome to the latest episode of the Space Game Junkie Podcast! This week, Jim and I sit down to talk to Paul Zakrzewski, lead developer for the currently-Kickstarted game Void Destroyer. Paul talks about the history of the game, his aspirations for it, working with the community to fix bugs and much more. It’s a lively discussion about a pretty fun game, even in this early stage of its lifespan, and we hope you enjoy it. :)

As always, we welcome your comments below, and invite you to subscribe to us via RSS or iTunes. Thanks for listening! :)

  1. It’s podcasts like these that make me want to knuckle down and learn some coding… nice work Paul!

  2. Thanks – what I think is a almost universal thruth is that a lot (I can’t say all because I haven’t met all) people greatly enjoy creating something. That’s really what makes us humans what we are. So it can be incredibly rewarding and motivating to go down these paths. There’s really no way to fail because something is always gained.

  3. (I’m catching up on the podcast…)

I love the idea of an RTS that lets you control units directly — the last time I saw something like that attempted was Ambrosia Software’s Ares, back in the ’90s.

I’m definitely going to take a closer look at Void Destroyer.

Chime In!
